Obituary of Sherrow M. Wingrove
Sherrow "Sherry" M. Wingrove age 74, of Mt. Pleasant died Thursday December 16, 2021 in Excela Frick Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Wingrove was born April 10, 1947 in Denver Colorado, the daughter of the late Ernest J. and Gwendolyn M. Newell Baker.
Mrs. Wingrove was a member of St. John Union Church in Mt. Pleasant. Sherry was a graduate of the former Hurst High School class of 1965 and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. For over 20 years she ran a beauty shop out of her house in Mt. Pleasant Township. Sherry then went on to own and operate Nana's Gift Outlet on Main St. in Mt. Pleasant. She was also the owner of R& R restaurant on Main St. in Mt. Pleasant. Sherry was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Historical Society, The Rotary Club, and was a very active member of the Mt. Pleasant Rails and Trails.
Sherry is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Stacy Momyer (Bruce), of Smithton; her sons, Douglas Halterman (Michaeline), of Greensburg, and Lance Halterman (Michael Ann), of Mt. Pleasant; her 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; and step-children, Raymond E. Wingrove, of Alabama, David E. Wingrove, of Latrobe, Valerie J. Wingrove, of Alabama, and their children and grandchildren. Sherry is also survived by her brothers, John F. Baker of Texas, and Kenneth N. Baker of Irwin; her best friend Carol Halterman of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Sherry was preceded in death by her husband Raymond R. Wingrove in 2016, her brother Lawrence W. Baker, and by her best friend Donna "Skinny" Eicher.
Family and friends are invited Sunday December 19, 2021 from 1 to 8 PM in Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St. Mt. Pleasant. A funeral service will be held Monday in the funeral home at 10 AM with the Rev. Dr. Dale L. Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Union Cemetery.
