Obituary of Patsy E. DePalma

Patsy E. DePalma, age 89 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Wednesday, (11/10/2021) in the Excela Health-Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Mr. DePalma was born February 22, 1932 in Old Bethany, PA, the son of the late John and Angeline Rosso DePalma. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. He was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School. Patsy proudly served his country in the United States Army, Company E, 110th Infantry. He was self-employed, a co- owner of DePalma Plumbing and Heating for over 40 years. Patsy was a life member of the Assunta Club and had served on the board of the Mt. Pleasant Sewage Authority. He was well known for his love of gardening and good food. His greatest love however, was that for his family and the time spent with them. Patsy is survived by his loving family: his wife of 66 years, Lorraine (Zelenske) DePalma, his children, James (Mylene) DePalma , Fred ( Melanie) DePalma , Jayne( Jeff) Sheldon and Tricia (Paul) Michal. He will be greatly missed by his beloved grandchildren; Bryan( Katie) DePalma, James (Mary) DePalma, Brett (Emily )DePalma, Stephen Michal, Vincent DePalma, Juliann Sheldon, Jessica Michal, Drew Sheldon, Grant Michal, John (Amy) Frye and Matthew (Samantha) Frye and by his great grandchildren; Allison, Joey, Brynn, Harper, Ethan, David, Jacob, Joanna, Daniel, Maria and Julia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Patsy was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, John, Jr. and Daniel DePalma , Carolyn Grega and Antoinette Baker. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Monday at 10:30AM in the funeral home, followed by Patsy’s Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant. Entombment will be in the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Excela Health Care and Hospice, St. Pius X Church or one’s favorite charity, in Memory of Patsy DePalma. The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff of Advantage Hospice and Excela Hospice.
