Janice Marie Barkley, age 70 of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, October 15, 2021. She was born June 19, 1951 to the late Edmund and Elizabeth Ann Vikartovsky Wasil. Janice was a member of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, it’s Christian Mothers and Holy Rosary Society and Branch 44 of the FCSLA. Janice was a 1969 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and received her degree from Seton Hill College in 1973. Janice had been employed by WCCC as a Sociology teacher, Residential Aide. She was also a counselor at the ARC in Greensburg and most recently worked for Pharmor in Greensburg. She is survived by her sons, Jason and Todd Barkley and by her brothes and sisters; Loretta Hunker, Marybeth Stouffer (Carl), Teresa Pisula (Tim), David Wasil (Karen) and Edmund Wasil Jr. (Kim) and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by an infant son, Jonathan Barkley. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, October 20th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM , the time of the Blessing Service at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mt. Pleasant. Janice's Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church. At this time face coverings must be worn and social distancing must be followed in the funeral home.
