Obituary of Charles Anthony Carolen
Charles Anthony “Chuck” Carolen, age 82 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Sunday (7/19/2020) in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, PA.
Mr. Carolen was born February 12, 1938 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Vitalian and Anne Reboy Carolen. He was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. Chuck was a graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School. He served his country in the United States Army from 1961 until his discharge in 1963. Prior to his retirement, Chuck had been employed with C & K Composite of Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the VFW Post 3368. Chuck had a passion for woodworking, making everything from furniture for family and friends, to kitchens and gun cabinets. He also enjoyed planting and tending to his vegetable garden and his flowers and the landscaping around his home.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 54 years, Harriet J. Walters Carolen, his daughters, Bernadette (Terry) Stewart of Connellsville and Christine Cramer of York and by his beloved grandsons, Terry Stewart and Kyle Cramer. Chuck is also survived by his sisters, Rosemary Carolen and Helen Rush, both of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brothers and sister; Joseph and Louis Carolen and Mary Ann Boscarino.
Honoring Chuck’s wishes, there will be no hours of public visitation.
Private Inurnment will be in the St. Pius X Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Thomas A. Federline officiating.
