Obituary of John Mott
John F. Mott, age 88 of Norvelt, PA, died Saturday (12/8/2018) in the Brookdale Senior Living Solutions Latrobe, PA.
Mr. Mott was born, August 5, 1930 in Humphrey’s. He was a son of the late Joseph and Julia Nagy Mott. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Trauger. During his lifetime, John had been employed by the Hagan Milk Company, Helms Express and the OC Cluss Lumber Company until his retirement in 1995. He had planned to golf with his old friends, fish, garden and hunt during those years. However, after just 2 weeks, he decided retirement wasn’t for him just yet and took a job working for Dr. Seski in Murrysville, where he enjoyed taking care of the landscape and interacting with the wildlife on the property. John always looked forward to hunting with his brothers and nephews and was a passionate gardener, sharing his crops with neighbors who would can and pickle the items. He was a member of the Amvets of Mount Pleasant. John was a devoted father, husband and grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren Adam and Jenny and his great granddaughter, Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Glenna (Wise) Mott, his children; Andrea Miller and her husband John of Pittsburgh and Cindy Markiewicz and her husband Brian of Norvelt, by his grandchildren, Adam Miller and Jennifer Marbella and her husband Kevin and by his great-grandchild, Taylor Marbella, all of Pittsburgh. John is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Andrew (Ben) Mott, Michael Mott, and Yolanda Mott and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Joseph, George, Alex, Paul, Steve (Tip) and Gabriel and by his sisters; Julia Bulebush, Helen Surma, Anna Gogets and Mary Mott.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St. Mt. Pleasant, PA.
