John always looked forward to hunting with his brothers and nephews and was a passionate gardener, sharing his crops with neighbors who would can and pickle the items.  He was a member of the Amvets of Mount Pleasant. John was a devoted father, husband and grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren Adam and Jenny and his great granddaughter, Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Glenna (Wise) Mott, his children;  Andrea Miller and her husband John of Pittsburgh and Cindy Markiewicz and her husband Brian of Norvelt, by his grandchildren, Adam Miller and  Jennifer Marbella and her husband Kevin and by his great-grandchild, Taylor Marbella, all of Pittsburgh. John is also survived by his brothers and sisters;  Andrew (Ben) Mott, Michael Mott, and Yolanda Mott and numerous nieces and nephews.
