Obituary of Phyllis A. Kurpiel

Phyllis A. (Martorella) Kurpiel, age 95 of Greensburg, PA, formerly of Mt.Pleasant, died Saturday (10/13/18) in the St. Anne Home, Greensburg, PA.

Mrs. Kurpiel was born June 8, 1923 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Peter andRuth Baughman Martorella. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral inGreensburg. Phyllis was a 1940 graduate of the former Ramsay High School, and a 1944

Graduate of the former Frick Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her retirement, Phyllis worked as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her loving family: her Niece, Arnetta Goldman and her husband Robert of Massapequa, NY, her sister in law, Barbara Martorella and nephews and their families from NY. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kurpiel in 2004, and by her sister and brother, Edna Skupinsky and Phillip Martorella.

As per Phyllis’s wishes, there will be no hours of public visitation. Family and friends are invited to Phyllis’s Funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 9:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 Main Street, Greensburg.
