Obituary of William G. Barrick

William G. Barrick, age 70 of Alexandria, VA, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died unexpectedly Thursday (08/9/2018) at his home.

 

Mr. Barrick was born July 3, 1948 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late George and Mary Chudik Barrick. He was a member of St. Rita’s Roman Catholic Church in Alexandria and a former member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church in Mt. Pleasant. Bill received  a degree from St. Vincent College. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the 1970’s and had been stationed in Seoul, Korea. He then worked for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) for the past 42 years in Washington D.C. as an outstanding analyst and public servant. Bill had many interests and hobbies including sailing, skiing, hiking, playing softball, traveling, bike and barge excursions. He volunteered much of his time to various organizations and shelters in the Alexandria and Washington, DC area.   

 

Bill is survived by his loving family: his sister, Jane Yanniello and her husband Michael of Cheswick, PA and numerous relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife. Mary Sue Carlson Barrick.

 

Family and friends will be received Saturday from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Visitation of the Blessed Mary RC Church, 740 Walnut St., Mount Pleasant, PA.   Bill’s Funeral Mass will immediately follow.  Inurnment will follow in Visitation Parish Cemetery with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant, PA.
