Obituary of Lois C. Santorella
Lois C. (Novak) Santorella, age 85 of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died unexpectedly Sunday 3/18/2018 at her home. Mrs. Santorella was born August 24, 1932 in Edwardsville, PA, the daughter of the late Vincent and Sophie Kobus Novak. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Lois was a 1950 graduate of Swoyerville High School. She had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Era. Lois had been employed for more than 15 years as a Unit Clerk at Frick Community Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and watching her cooking shows on TV. Lois was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Debbie Valeriani of Pittsburgh, with whom she resided, Sandra Brown of Scottdale, Eugene Santorella III and Sally of Mt. Pleasant, David Santorella and Barbara of Myrtle Beach, SC, Michael Santorella of Cleveland, OH, and Jennie Santorella of Pittsburgh, and by their father, Eugene Santorella, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Vincent Novak in 1969, and by her grandson, David Santorella, Jr. in 2016. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446. A parish wake service will be held on Wednesday at 3PM and the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department will meet at the funeral home at 7PM Wednesday.
