Obituary of Daniel L. Rimlinger
Daniel L. Rimlinger, age 84 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday (02/15/18) in the Easy Living Country Estates, New Stanton, PA, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Rimlinger was born October 18, 1933 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Lawrence and Catherine Janek Rimlinger. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Dan was a 1951 graduate of the former Ramsay High School, and attended the Western PA Institute of Technology in 1958. He was a veteran of the Korean Era, proudly serving in the United States Army, in France and Germany. Dan had been employed as a Forwman of the Tool and Die division of the former Modulus Corporation and was the club steward for the American Legion Post 446. For many years he helped with the St. Pius Bingo. He enjoyed working in his garden and canning vegetables. He also loved wood working, but most of all enjoyed the time spent with his family. Dan is survived by his loving family: his children; Daniel B. Rimlinger of Scottdale, Douglas B. Rimlinger (Cynthia), Angela R. Rimlinger, and Amy R. Menefee (Steve Basel), all of Mt. Pleasant and by his beloved grandchildren; Tiffany Rimlinger, Hayley Rimlinger, Douglas Rimlinger, Jr., and John D. Menefee. He is also survived by his sister in law, Mary Magdalene Sukenik. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Anastasia "Snookie" Sukenik Rimlinger on Dec. 19, 2017, his daughter, Andrea Rimlinger in 1970, and by his sisters, Dolores Rimlinger, Geraldine Winslow, Cecilia Prinkey and Thelma Porterfield. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 12 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by Dan's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
