Obituary of William P. Yezek

William P. Yezek, Jr., age 91 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Tuesday (2/6/18) at his home, surrounded by his loving family . Mr. Yezek was born June 15, 1926 in Morewood, PA, the son of the late William and Minnie Gehrke Yezek. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Bill was a life member of the Hecla Sportsman's Club the Slovak Club of Mt. Pleasant, and the Mt. Pleasant Fireman's Club. He was an avid hunter, even this past hunting season, getting his deer. He also enjoyed fishing, working in his garden and cutting his grass. He loved NASCAR racing, and had built stock cars that he had raced. His most favorite times however, were those spent with his family.. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 72 years, Eleanor Sikora Yezek, his sons, James R. Yezek and his wife Diane of Stahlstown and Barry L. Yezek and and his wife Betty of Mt. Pleasant , his beloved grandchildren; William Yezek IV, Douglas Yezek and Emily, James Yezek and Amy, Jason Yezek, Denise Yezek Franchak and Mark, and Karen Yezek Gallick and Chris, and by his eleven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, William P. Yezek, III in 2010, his grandson Brian Lee Yezek in 2009, his daughter in law, Toni Yezek in 2015, his infant brother, Carl Yezek, and by his sister Kathryn Pravlik. Family and Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with Pastor Kenneth Butts officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
