Obituary of Patricia J. Stahl

Patricia J. (Wisniewski) Stahl, age 78 of Mount Pleasant. PA, died Monday, (02/5/18) in the UPMC-Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Mrs. Stahl was born February 22, 1939 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Marion and Josephine Ozuk Wisniewski. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Pat was a 1956 graduate of the former Hurst High School. She had been employed by the Laughrey and King Insurance Company and DeFurio Mongel Associates for many years. Pat was a very active volunteer for the St. Pius X and Visitation Parishes; as a Eucharistic Minister, for their Consolation Ministry and Homebound Ministry, Bible study groups and as an Instructor for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Mt. Pleasant Garden Club. Pat loved taking the time to distribute food to the homeless in Pittsburgh. Pat Stahl was the sun around which her family orbited. She was, and will continue to be the focal point from which her children and grandchildren revolve. She was their mother, their nana, their friend, their rock, their confidante and their inspiration. The family knows that they shared this gentle, compassionate woman with many others- many they knew and some they didn't know- who were also affected by her inner beauty. To all, she was a source of light. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Jeffrey A. Stahl and his wife Donna of Greensburg, Beth Malara and her husband Donn of Mt. Pleasant, Kathryn Duchin and her husband Marc of Mt. Lebanon, Kristen Balestreri and her husband Dan of North Huntingdon, and by her beloved grandchildren; Dominic and Mario Balestreri, Marcus and Nicole Malara and Sophia and Ava Duchin. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Stahl in 2010 and by her brother Marion Wisniewski, Jr. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by Pat's Funeral Mass in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held on Thursday at 3PM by the Ministry of Consolation.
