Obituary of Anastasia Rimlinger
Anastasia "Snookie" Sukenik Rimlinger, age 85 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Tuesday (12/19/17) in the Easy Living Country Estates, New Stanton, PA, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Rimlinger was born October 7, 1932 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Sikora Sukenik. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant and a former choir member. Anastasia was a 1950 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. Snookie enjoyed watching Pirates baseball and Steeler Football, going to the Casinos and sharing a beer with her husband Dan, but most of all she loved spending time and caring for her famlly. She was a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother.
Snookie is survived by her loving family: her husband Daniel Rimlinger, her children; Daniel B. Rimlinger of Scottdale, Douglas B. Rimlinger (Cynthia), Angela R. Rimlinger, and Amy R. Menefee (Steve Basel), all of Mt. Pleasant and by her beloved grandchildren; Tiffany Rimlinger, Hayley Rimlinger, Douglas Rimlinger, Jr., and John D. Menefee. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Magdalene Sukenik of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, Snookie was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Rimlinger in 1970, her brother, Valentine "Bill" Sukenik, and by her sister, Mildred Sukenik Biller in 1998.
Family and friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 PM and Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.
A blessing service will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home followed by her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held at 3PM Friday in the funeral home, and the Visitation Rosary Society will pray the rosary immediately following the wake service.
