Obituary of Shirley (Gibbons) Dillon

 Shirley (Gibbons) Dillon, age 82 of Alverton, PA, died Monday (11/27/2017) in the Excela Health-Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA. She will dwell in the House of Our Lord forever.

Mrs. Dillon was born May19, 1935 in Bridgeport, PA, the daughter of the late John and Gladys Trout Gibbons. She was a faithful member of the Alverton Methodist Church. Shirley was a graduate of the former East Huntgindon High School.

She is survived by her brother, Melvin D. Gibbons and his wife Bonnie of Wasilla, AK, her sisters, Ruth Ann Cox of Vowinckle, PA and Janet Gaye Truxel and her husband Glenn of Enon Valley, PA, and by her sister in law, Irene (Laskowski) Gibbons of Soldotna, AK. In additon to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Dillon and by her brother, John (Jack) Gibbons. Shirley is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. We are very thankful to Pastor Tom Shirer and the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Excela Health-Frick Hospital, caring friends and wonderful family for their loving concern for our sister. Honoring Shirley's wishes, there will be no hours of public visitation. Private Inurnment will be in the Alverton Cemetery, next to her late husband Donald.
