Obituary of Elizabeth "Frosty" DeForrest

Elizabeth "Frosty" (Lytle) DeForrest, age 63 of Tarrs, PA, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. DeForrest was born March 5, 1954 in Myersdale, PA, the daughter of the late Francis and Melva Silbaugh Lytle.She was a member of the Word of Life Ministries of Greensburg. Frosty was a 1972 graduate of Southmoreland High School. She was a member of the East Huntingdon Fire Department and its first Lady Fire Fighter. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was employed as a program coordinator for UPMC. Frosty had also been employed by Westmoreland County Correctional in the Medical Department. She also had worked as Paramedic for North Huntingdon Rescue #8; Mutual Aid as a Dispatcher Paramedic, and Mt. Pleasant Medic 10 as a Paramedic Volunteer. Frosty is survived by her loving family: her husband of 43 years, Richard H. DeForrest, Jr., her sons, Richard H. DeForrest, IV and his wife Stephanie, and Douglas A. DeForrest and his wife Michelle, all of Connellsville, her grandchildren; Ricky Shultz, Ashley Shultz, Emma DeForrest, Alex Rosky, Joelle Rosky and Derek DeForrest, and by her great grandchildren, Ava and Harper Shultz. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; Robert Lytle (Darlene) of Scottdale, Ronald Lytle (Patricia) of Confluence, Mary Potoka of Youngwood, Carletta Wigle (David) of Tarrs, and Brenda Glover (Larry) of Confluence, her mother in law, Helen DeForrest of Greensburg, and her sisters in law, Rose Lytle, Joann Lytle and Sally Lytle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers; William, Jack, and Melvin Lytle, her brother in law, Charles Potoka, and her father in law, Richard H. DeForrest, Sr. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Frosty will be held Thursday, July 6 at 1:30 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
