Obituary of Donald Soforic

Donald Soforic, 85, of Tarrs died Thursday May 14, 2026 at Independence Westmoreland Hospital.  Donald was born December 27, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Andrew and Helena Orban Soforic.

Don was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School.  He worked at Volkswagen of America in New Stanton and Elliott Company in Jeannette.  He was an avid musician who played in several bands with his friends throughout the years.  Don was a member of Hempfield Hunt Club, Bridgeport Sportsman’s Club, and East Huntingdon Firemans Club. 

Don is survived by his loving family, his children, Donald L. Soforic (Charlee) of Davenport, FL, Kristin Soforic (Scott) of Oxford, PA, and Mark Soforic (Kerrie) of Southwest, PA; his grandchildren, Melissa Leshin (Robin), Donald L. Soforic II (Molly), and Janell Stoner (Kodi); and by his five great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Soforic; his grandson, Joseph Hixson II; and by his brother, Andrew Soforic.

In honoring Don’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  All arrangements have been entrusted to Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt.
