Obituary of Mary E. Shrum

Mary E. Shrum, 86, of Uniontown died Saturday May 16, 2026 in Ruby Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Shrum was born June 25, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Adam and Mary Mayercheck Kujawa.

Mary was a graduate of Hurst High School class of 1957.  She was member of Grace Community Church in Uniontown.  Mary enjoyed doing ceramics, flowers, and especially watching her great-grandsons play baseball.  She was very family oriented and would give the shirt off her back to anyone.

Mary is survived by her loving family, her son, Walter B. Shrum III (Marianne); her grandchildren, Jacinda McDonald (Darryl), Blaine Shrum (Lara), Joshua Shrum, and Ernie Fowler (Dom); her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Hunter, Connor, and Naomi McDonald, Ayla Shrum, Caylinn Fowler, and Kyrie Shrum; her siblings, Richard Kujawa, Shirleah Kelly, and Kenneth Kujawa; and by numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Shrum Jr.; and her daughter, Valerie Lowdermilk. 

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant, where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Harry Strauser, officiating.  A private interment will take place in Mt.
