Obituary of Joyce E. Lynch

Joyce Ellen (Little) Lynch, 85, died on April 4, 2026 in Franklin Park, PA.  She was born on August 23, 1940 in Monongahela, PA to the late John O. Little and Margaret (Beeler) Little.  

Joyce was a graduate of Rostraver High School in 1958.  After high school, she worked in the office at US Steel's Irvin Works, where she met her future husband James Edward Lynch.  They married in 1961 and settled in Mount Pleasant, PA.  Joyce and Jim lived and raised their two daughters on Parkview Terrace.  Joyce was an outstanding mother and homemaker, as well as a faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and volunteered for many committees.  In the early 1980s, she became an ER registration and outpatient clerk at nearby Frick (Excela) Hospital, a job she held for 30 years.  After retiring in 2011, she continued to volunteer at the hospital and carried on her faithful service at Wesley UMC in Connellsville as a choir member and dedicated volunteer.  Joyce was a hard worker but also enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.  A cherished mother, sister, friend, and neighbor, Joyce will be greatly missed.

Joyce is survived by her loving family: her daughters, Amy (Keith) Charles of Appleton, WI and Marcy (Jeffrey) Prem of Pittsburgh, PA; her beloved grandchildren, Alexander Charles, Eli Prem, and Owen Prem; her sisters, Linda Patterson and Marlene (John) Schwab; her dear friend, Kay Springer, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Lynch in 1986 and her brother-in-law, Dale Patterson.  

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday April 8th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday April 9th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Pete Salko officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt.
