Obituary of Marie D. Sofranko

Marie D. Sofranko, 88, of Mt. Pleasant died Friday March 20, 2026 at Independence Westmoreland Hospital.  Mrs. Sofranko was born September 8, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant to the late John Anthes Kois Szuba.

Marie was a graduate of Ramsay High School class of 1955 and a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  She worked as a candy maker at Brown’s Candy Kitchen for over 35 years.  Marie was a widow for more than 56 years and dedicated her life to raising her two daughters.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking polish dishes, and spending time with her family.

Marie is survived by her loving family, her daughters, Lisa Frazier, and Linda Frick (William); her grandchildren, Jason Frazier (Maria), Julianne Kalp (Eric), and Adam Frick (Dani); her great-grandchildren, Levi, Chase, Claire, Tyler, and Adalind; her sisters, Regina Sanders, and Kathy Noel (Richard); and by numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Sofranko in 1970; her son-in-law, Donald Frazier in 2017; and by her siblings, John, Evelyn, Bernadette, Mildred, Thomas, Patricia, and Leonard.
