Obituary of Ruth Q. Scherer

Ruth Q. Scherer, 79, of Norvelt died Sunday March 1, 2026 at her residence.  Mrs. Scherer was born September 6, 1946 in Connellsville to the late James and Opal Porch Queer.

Ruth was a graduate of Connellsville High School class of 1964 and Westmoreland County Community College with a degree in Nursing.  She worked at Westmoreland Hospital for many years as a Respiratory Therapist.  Ruth enjoyed doing arts and crafts, painting, reading, and especially cooking and baking with her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her loving family, her sons, Randy Scherer, and Ryan Scherer (Carin); her daughter-in-law, April Scherer; her grandchildren, Raelynn, Zachary, Brendan, and Brody Scherer; her siblings, Tressa Cesario, Dennis Scherer, and David Scherer; and by numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ray W. Scherer; her son, Ray W. Scherer; her granddaughter, Rylee Grace Scherer; and by her siblings, James Queer and Elmer Scherer.
