Obituary of Anna M Forsythe

Anna (Annie or Ann) M. Forsythe, 85, of Scottdale died on Friday February 20, 2026, at Independence Health Frick Hospital.  Mrs. Forsythe was born on December 24, 1940, in Mt. Pleasant.  She was the eldest of five children of the late Joseph and Mamie Crivella Yancosky.

Anna was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and graduated from the Ramsay High School in 1958.  She also received her RN diploma from St. John Hospital in Pittsburgh in 1961 and worked as an operating nurse at Frick Hospital for 33 years before retiring from the Excela Frick Hospital in 2003.  She was a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses and a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved cooking, baking, old classic movies, reading and traveling.

Anna is survived by her loving family, her son Dennis James of Mt. Pleasant, her daughter Denise Ann Adler (Henry) of Pittsford, NY, and her son Sean Michael of Scottdale.  Anna is also survived by her grandson Joey Forsythe of Latrobe and her twin granddaughters Rachel and Hannah Adler of New York City. Anna is also survived by her brother Joseph ‘Coke’ Yancosky (Carol) as well as her two surviving sisters: Connie Thomas and Toni Kuester (Stephen), all of Mt. Pleasant.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Lee Forsythe in 2011 and her sister, Bernadette (Bernie) Kattera in 2014.

Family and friends will be received on Friday May 1, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 224 Summit St. Mt.
