Obituary of Dennis F. Ochaba
Dennis F. Ochaba, 79, of Mt. Pleasant died Monday November 24, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Ochaba was born September 18, 1946 in Butler to the late Frank J. and Maude Miller Ochaba.
Dennis was a graduate of Butler High School class of 1964. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, serving three tours in Vietnam and retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. He also worked as a patient escort at Excela Health Frick and Latrobe Hospitals. Dennis was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church and the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed golfing, his dogs Elvis and Alaina, and the occasional trip to the casino.
Dennis is survived by his loving family, his wife of 12 years, Marie Jakubek Ochaba; his daughters, Michelle Woodward (Mickey), Jeanine Smith (John), and Kelly Bramble (Wayne); his step-sons, JD Baughman-Frena, George McClain-Frena, and Kalil Frena; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and by twenty-five foster children. Dennis is also survived by his brother, Jim Ochaba (Sherry); his sister-in-law, Wanda Bazzar (Frank); his brother-in-law, Mark Lemley (Lisa); his best friend, Rich; and by numerous extended family. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his son, James Marshall Ochaba.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant, where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Tomas Avilla, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 446. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Dennis Ochaba.
