Obituary of Dustin R. Smetak

Dustin R. Smetak, 52, of Mt. Pleasant died Thursday November 20, 2025.  Mr. Smetak was born May 25, 1973 in Greensburg to Dean Smetak and Darlene Coppula Smetak.

Dustin was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School class of 1991 and Valtech to become a mechanic.  He enjoyed boating, German cars, and loved his pets.  Dustin was a gentle man with a big heart, who above all else loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he survived by his sister, Deanna Varrato (Robby); and by numerous extended family and friends.

In honoring Dustin’s wishes, all services will be private for his family on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to an organization that meant a lot to Dustin, The Cat Committee, 408 Braddock St., Mt.
