Obituary of Barbara Jean Hixson

Barbara Pinskey Hixson, 92, of Mt. Pleasant died Monday September 22, 2025 at Hillside Estates in Connellsville.  Mrs. Hixson was born January 8, 1933 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Bruno and Celia Liczbinsky Pinskey.

Barbara was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School class of 1951.  She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Westmoreland Manor and various nursing homes in the area.  She enjoyed going to the YMCA to swim and reading a good book.

Barbara is survived by her loving sons, Bill Hixson, Dave Hixson (RaeAnn), and Tim Hixson (Toni); her grandchildren, Brennan, Kyler, Rebecca, Emily, and Josh; and by her sister-in-law, Sally Hegedus.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William J. Hixson in 2002; by her brother, Gene Pinsky; and by her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Brothers Hixson.
