Obituary of Marie E. Ceroni
Marie Elizabeth Ceroni (Krivonik), 86, of Norvelt, joined her husband on Saturday August 9, 2025, peacefully with her family by her side at Greene Health and Rehab Center, Greensburg. Marie was born October 21, 1938 in Latrobe, the daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine (Rady) Krivonik).
She was a member of St. Florian Parish of United. Marie was a 1956 graduate of Latrobe High School, which she loved to attend their reunions. She was the owner of Woods Insurance and Latrobe Credit Bureau for many years during which time she created and taught business classes at WCCC for the school of small business, until she sold the business. She then went to to work as a claims processor at the Westmoreland County Court House for 9 years, and finally retiring after 16 years as an administrative assistant at Greensburg Care Center. Not one to stand still, she ended her career as a volunteer at the St. Vincent Grist Mill and Basilica. Marie was also one of the founding members of the Norvelt Women’s Golf League, and an avid Steelers fan.
Marie is survived by her loving family, her daughters, Sherry Fleming (Donald) of Greensburg, and Lurleen McGannon (Stephen) of Latrobe; by her adoring grandchildren, Jason Fleming (Laura), Kayla Magnone (Major Allen Magnone), Gregory Fleming, Brandon McGannon and Alexis McGannon; and by her great-grandchildren, Ava and Olivia Magnone. She is also survived by her aunt, Vern Palinkas; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Krivonik (Henry), and Kathleen Ceroni (Michael Polechko); her brothers-in-law, William Ceroni, and John DiPasquale (Sandy); extended family member, Judy Krizan, with gratitude for her love and support; and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald “DeDe” Ceroni; her brother, Stephen Krivonik Jr.; her sisters, Anna Krivonik, Catherine Krivonik, Eva Krivonk Ferraro; her in-laws, James and Margaret Ceroni; her sister-in-law, Linda DiPasquale; and by her brother-in-law, John Robert Ceroni (Barbara).
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her Blessing Service at 12:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at St. Florian’s Catholic Church, United, with The Rev. John Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will follow in Forty Martyrs Cemetery, Trauger.
