Obituary of Eugene J. Santorella Jr.

 

Eugene J. “Tubby” Santorella Jr., 97, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday July 3, 2025 at Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital.  Mr. Santorella was born June 26, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant with his twin sister, Evelyn to the late Eugene and Jennie Caruso Santorella. 

Eugene proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He was the owner of Excel Foam Products in New Jersey and also managed a multiplex theater for Clearview Cinemas for over 20 years.  Most recently he had worked in the mailroom at WCCC.  Tubby was a member of the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant and the Scottdale Elks Lodge 777.

Tubby is survived by his loving family, his children, Debbie, Sandi, Jennie, Eugene, David, and Michael; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Tubby was preceded in death by his grandson, David V. Santorella Jr.; and his siblings, Leonard, Evelyn, Madeline, Pauline, and Dorothy.   

In honoring Tubby’s wishes, there will be no viewing or services.  A private inurnment will be held in St. Pius Parish Cemetery.  All arrangements have been entrusted to Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt.
