Obituary of Francesca Parisi

Francesca “Mary” (Merulla) Parisi, 94, formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday May 21, 2025.  Mrs. Parisi was born June 7, 1930 in Pace Del Mela, Sicily Italy to the late Guiseppe and Maria Cernuto Merulla. 

Mrs. Parisi was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  She was a seamstress by trade and wonderful cook.  Mary was known for her deep faith and love for her Sicilian roots, and Christmas Eve gathering.  Mary loved sewing, gardening, cooking, and most of all taking care of her family.

Mary is survived by her loving family, her sons, Carmen Parisi (Angela) of Mt. Pleasant, and Joseph Parisi (Kim) of Greensburg; her grandsons who affectionately called her Nonna Mary, Giovanni of Aurora, CO, Antonio (Nikki) of Arlington, VA, Christopher (Erin) of Washington DC, and Patrick (Alina) of Charlotte, NC; her great-grandchildren, T.J., Tommy, and Thea; her brother, Santi Merulla (Nicoletta) of Pace Del Mela; and by her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Giovanni “John” Parisi in 1996.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of her Blessing Service at Noon in Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt.
