Obituary of James F. Hixson

James F. Hixson, 85, of New Stanton passed away Tuesday May 6, 2025 at Westmoreland Hospital.  Mr. Hixson was born September 23, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Lloyd F. and Eleanor G. Disman Hixson. 

James was a graduate of Alverton High School class of 1957.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force with 8 years of service.  Jim worked for over 27 years as a paymaster at Anchor Hocking.  He enjoyed his daily bus rides with Senior Life and meeting new people.

Jim is survived by his loving family, his children, Robert F. Hixson (Kimberly) of New Stanton, and Allsion Hixson (David Grosser) of Pleasant Unity; his step daughters, Lora Lammers (Jeffrey) of Titusville, and Louise Fecher (Joseph) of West Field, NY; his grandchildren, Robert Hixson (Karen), Victor Hixson (Jessie), and Lacey Klingensmith (Chris); his great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Gavin, Owen, and Waylon; his nine step grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rebecca Jordan Hixson in 2022; and by his infant brother.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of his Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt.
