Obituary of Mary Sue Hoke
Mary Sue (Dolan) Hoke, 96, of Mount Pleasant Twp. died in Greensburg on May 3, 2025. She was born February 11, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, a daughter of William and Martha (Lobingier) Dolan. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ. Mary Sue was a 1946 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. She had been employed at McCroy’s, Freed’s and was co-owner of The Style Center. She was a 40-year member and past Regent of Braddock Trail Chapter, NSDAR, member of the Central Northwest, Regents Club of DAR, life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Mount Pleasant Firemen, a former member of the Mount Pleasant Court #46 Order of the Amaranth, and a member of Jeannette Court #25 order of the Amaranth.
She enjoyed making baskets for her family and friends, fishing with her husband Ray Hoke who passed on November 21, 2013, and playing cards with friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Sue was predeceased by a granddaughter Christina Lynn Keslar and great-granddaughter Clara Newill, sister Patricia (Gilbert) Fisher and brother William (Virginia) Dolan, son-in-law William Newill and brother-in-law Richard Ashmun.
Surviving are three daughters, Debra Newill, Susan (Pete) Pelar and Sheryl (Barry) Keslar; seven grandchildren Karen Newill-Brown, David (Jessica) Newill; Matthew (Jen) Pelar, Christopher (Lindsay) Pelar; Brandon (Alicia) Keslar, Kaitlin Keslar, and Nathan (Hannah) Keslar..Six great-granddaughters Cassandra, Alexia and Breanna Keslar; Emma Pelar and Lyla and Emery Pelar; one great grandson Corey Keslar and one great great grandson Jesse Keslar. She is also survived by her sister Rosalind Ashmun; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of her Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street in Mount Pleasant.
