Obituary of Eleanor E. Peagler

Eleanor E. Peagler, of Mt Pleasant passed away Wednesday April 9, 2025 in Greene Health & Rehab in Greensburg.  Eleanor was born in Hecla and raised in Standard Shaft spending her entire life in Mt Pleasant / East Huntington Twp. 

She was a graduate of Hurst High School class of 1950 and worked in a variety of Quality Control Jobs primarily with Westinghouse/Powerex and Volkswagon of America prior to retirement.   After retirement she continued to work assisting in managing local golf club pro shops for Robertshaw Acres Golf Club and Timber Ridge Golf Club.  Eleanor was a member of Visitation Church in Mt Pleasant and lived life to the fullest remaining active into her 90’s enjoying playing golf, bowling, bocce and shuffle board.  She was proud of her golfing hole in one at the age of 85 on hole number 13 at Norvelt Golf Club as part of Lance’s Ladies Hole in One Club and she enjoyed a cold Miller Lite or Stoneys and an occasion good bourbon and coke.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Anna Pavuk; brothers William Pavuk, Andrew Pavuk and Leonard Pavuk as well as sisters Bertha Pavuk Latsko and Anna Pavuk Rose and Eleanor’s former husband Frank C Peagler.  Eleanor is survived by her son Frank S Peagler (Anna Visconti Peagler) of Latrobe; grandchildren James Peagler (Sarah) of Greensburg, Sydney Peagler Kalinich (Josh) of Lebanon TN, and Isabelle Peagler of Ligonier; Great grandchildren Alyvia & Logan Peagler and Myer Kalinich.  Also surviving are sisters Phyllis Pavuk Kromer (Jay) of Calumet and Elizabeth (Betty) Pavuk Kowatch of Latrobe as well as numerous nieces & nephews. 

Per Eleanor’s wishes, there will be no viewing or Mass but Friends and Family are invited to attend a Memorial Blessing Service at 11:00 am on April 25, 2025 at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mt Pleasant, PA.  A private interment will be held in Visitation Parish Cemetery.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to her wonderful caregivers at Greene Health & Rehab during her time there.  To offer a condolence please visit our website at www.galone-carusofuneralhome.com
