Obituary of Sherry Ann Anderson
Sherry A. Anderson, 75, of Greensburg passed away Thursday April 10, 2025 at Friendship Village of South Hills surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Anderson was born June 4, 1949 in Pittsburgh to the late John E. and Olha Marie Rega Anderson.
Sherry was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School class of 1967 and Slippery Rock University with a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences. She worked for the Westmoreland County Behavioral Health and Developmental Services Department as a Behavior Health Program Coordinator. Sherry was also the Child and Adolescent Social Service Program Coordinator for many years. She received the Innovations Life Achievement Award for decades of service in mental health. Her expertise and passion for the entire behavioral health system was her gift to adults and children experiencing any type of mental health disorder. She also volunteered for many organizations including, Feeding the Spirit, Ray of Hope, The Greensburg Art Center, St. Bruno's Fish Fry, St. Pius X Parish Festival and Fish Fry, and the Twin Lakes Festival. Sherry devoted her life to helping others. She had a strong Catholic Faith and would attend morning Mass at many local churches. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt to many, and friend.
Sherry is survived by her loving family, her sister, Beverly Bastaich; her nephew, Dr. Robert Bastaich; her niece, Dr. Yolanda Mondzelewski (Dr. James); and by her great nephews and niece, Connar Bastaich (Sophia), Dustin Bastaich, Grady Bastaich, and Sydney Bastaich.
Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant, where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to Feeding the Spirit, 611 Southwest Ave., Greensburg, PA 15601, or Ray of Hope, 409 Coulter Ave. Greensburg, PA 15601 in loving memory of Sherry Anderson.
