Obituary of Ivan E. Lankey Jr.

Ivan E. “Rick” Lankey Jr., 70, of Ruffsdale passed away Friday February 28, 2025 at Independence Health System-Westmoreland Hospital.  Mr. Lankey was born April 8, 1954 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Ivan E. and Alice M. Snyder Lankey Sr.

Rick was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School class of 1972.  He worked as a laborer for most of his life.  Rick was a strong man with a gentle soul who valued his family and friends.  After he had his first heart attack 17 years ago, his family and friends helped to give him a purpose.

Rick is survived by his loving family, his sons, Ivan Elwood Lankey Sr. (Jamie Marie); and  Michael A. Vrabel; his step-children, Dawn R. Williams, and Scott Vrabel; his grandchildren, Ivan E. Lankey Jr., Aaron Vrabel, Caleb O. Vrabel, and Sarah Vrabel; and his siblings, Virgil Lankey and Constance Lankey.  He is also survived by his in-laws, Sally Soriano, Shelly Hepler (Arvin), and Charles Wadsworth.  In addition to his parents, Ivan was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra Lynn Wadsworth Lankey; his brother, Timothy Lankey; and his brothers-in-law, James and Jason Wadsworth.
