Michael “Mike” A. Rose Jr., 80, of Tarrs passed away January 24th, 2025 at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital. Michael was born August 12th, 1944 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Michael and Mary (Galderese) Rose.
Mike worked and retired from Lenox Crystal Glass after 43 years of service. Additionally, Michael was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Some of Michael’s favorite past times include hunting and fishing with his nephew, Dan. For years, Michael was regarded as a great trout fisherman here in the local foothills of Western Pennsylvania. In his free time, he also enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Steelers football.
Mike is survived by his loving family, his brothers, Louis Rose, Joseph Rose Sr. and his wife Maxine. He is also survived by his nephews, Daniel and John Rose, nieces Amy and Heather Rose, great nieces and nephews, Emily, Natalie, Bryan, Patrick, and Abigail Rose, along with many additional nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife Mary “Peggy” Parfit Rose in May 2023; and by his brothers, Patsy and Richard Rose.
In honoring Mike’s wishes, all services were private for his family. Interment was held in St. Pius Parish Cemetery with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions may be made, if desired to Veterans of Pennsylvania. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Hempfield Manor for their wonderful care of Mike. Rest In Peace, Uncle Mike, “Love Lasts Forever”.
