Donald R. Elsbury, 91, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully on Saturday March 21, 2026. Mr. Elsbury was born November 21, 1934 in Greensburg to the late Gilbert and Idella Overly Elsbury.
Donald was a graduate of Hurst High School class of 1952 where he played center for the Hurst Hurricanes football team. He owned Fay-West Mobile Home Improvements in Mt. Pleasant for over 20 years. He was a member of the Marion Lodge #562 and was the past Worshipful Master in 2007. Donald was also a member of the Scottish Rite at the Valley of Uniontown. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his friends and family.
Donald is survived by his loving family, his wife of 71 years, Sylvia J. Balcerek Elsbury; his daughters, Holly Gannon (Michael), and Dana Elsbury; his grandson, Brian Gannon (Kayla); and by his nephew, Lawrence "Skid" Shaffer Jr. (Cindy). In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Sandra Sue.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., Mt. Pleasant, where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David L. Greer, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp.
