Obituary of Charles Lee Moore

Charles "Chuck" Lee Moore passed away Sunday January 7, 2018 at his home in Ruffs Dale. He was born September 1, 1932 to Charles Henry and Sarah Moore (Albright) in Central, PA. He graduated in 1950 from East Huntington High School, attended Saint Vincent College, and received a Master's degree in education from Indiana University of PA. On June 12, 1959, Chuck married the former Margaret Lesko in Winchester, VA. He served as a cryptographer in the US Army during the Korean War. Chuck had a passion for baseball and played collegiately along with several sand lot teams in Westmoreland County. Chuck took extreme pride in his two granddaughters, Margaret Moore (16) and Madeline Moore (13) of Ruffs Dale. He loved to play classic country and polka music for them and talk to them in Polish. As a retired government teacher for the Norwin School District, he was very active in politics, and liked campaigning for those he supported. When not working on a campaign, he enjoyed spending time in the garden growing tomatoes, and cheering or cursing the Pittsburgh Pirates. Chuck is survived by his two sons, Henry Lee Moore of North Huntingdon, PA, and Charles David Moore (Robin) of Ruffs Dale, PA, and by his two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, and an infant son, Jeffrey Paul Moore. At his request, all services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant, PA and Eugene G. Saloom.
