Obituary of Larry R. Golobish

 Larry R. Golobish, age 73 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died peacefully, Wednesday  May 3, 2017, at his home.

 

Mr. Golobish was born April 10, 1944 in Greensburg, PA, the son of the late Rudy and Genevieve (Shirey) Golobish, and step mother, Dorothy (Oberley) Golobish. He was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society. Larry was a graduate of Hempfield High School. He proudly served in the United States Army with an extended tour in Vietnam. Larry was a self employed designer/ builder for many years. He had served on the Mount Pleasant Planning Commission. Larry loved his family. They were the most important part of his life and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

 

Larry is survived by his loving family: his wife, Barbara (Kundrick) Golobish, with whom he would have celebrated 49 years of marriage in June, his son, Larry R. Golobish, II and his wife Jaime (Rath),and his daughter, Lisa R. Cole and her husband David, all of Mt. Pleasant and by his beloved grandchildren; Cassidy, Colton, Addison and Lauren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Judy Noble of Palmyra, OH, Dave Golobish of Vermont, Patty (John) Yazembiak of Albion, Rudy (Sharon) Golobish of Rillton, Karen (Peter) Mihalick of OH, Ginger Golobish of Indiana, Randy Golobish of the Philippines, Daniel (Judy) Golobish, Sam Golobish and Albert Golobish, all of North Carolina, and Tammy (Ed) Kerr of Connecticut, and by his sister in law, Marie Kundrick of Mt. Pleasant and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, and step mother, Larry was preceded in death by his brother Andy Golobish, and brother in law Paul "Shiek" Kundrick.

 

Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 until 8PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.

A blessing service be held Saturday at 9:30AM in the funeral home, followed by Larry's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant.

 

Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 446 immediately following his funeral mass. A parish wake service will be held Friday at 3PM and the Visitation Rosary Altar Society will recite the rosary immediately following the wake service.
