Obituary of John W. Britt

John W. "Jack" Britt, age 86 of Tarrs, PA, died at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, PA. Mr. Britt was born June 24, 1930 in Footedale, PA, the son of the late Charles and Margaret Kittredge Britt. He was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Tarrs, PA. Jack was a 1949 graduate of Brownsville High School. He had been employed for most of his life as a Truck Driver, retiring with 17 years of Service from UPS. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local #30. Jack loved the outdoors, and enjoyed spending his time fishing. He is survived by his loving family: his devoted wife of 51 years, Florence J. Soforic Britt, his beloved daughter, Jacqueline Cunningham and her husband William of Scottdale, his beloved grandchildren; Shelley Toland and Matthew, William Cunningham, Jr. and Sara, and Duncan Cunningham and Emily, and by his great grandchildren, Dominic, Logan, Jocelyn and Katera. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his two brothers. In honoring Jack's wishes, there will be no hours of public visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant.
