Obituary of Charles L. "Chuck" Philipp

Charles L. "Chuck" Philipp, age 86 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 in Excela Health-Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Mr. Philipp was born December 24, 1930 in West Newton, PA, the son of the late Charles and Rose Lindaur Philipp. Chuck was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving his country during the Korean War. He also served in the PA Army National Guard. Chuck had been employed by PPG Industries until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446, the Slovak Club and the Falcons. He was also a member of the Collinsburger Liederkranz. Chuck is survived by his loving family: his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Kubasky Philipp, his daughters; Janice Nelson and her husband Jeff of Jeannette, Debbie Nutter and her husband Mike of Mt. Pleasant, and Karen Dumaran and her husband Ted of Greensburg, by his beloved grandchildren; Stacey Garstecki and Brett, Aaron Nutter and Amanda, Chelsea Nutter, Isaiah Dumaran and Catherine and Kailyn Dumaran, and by his great grandchildren, Madelyn, Jaxson, and Brantley, and his best friend, his cat "Duke". In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Carl Philipp, Jane Litvany and Vivian Leep. In honoring Chuck's wishes there will be no hours of public visitation. Funeral services and entombment will be private at the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant,PA.
