Obituary of Joseph P. Rudnik

Joseph P. Rudnik, age 82 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday, March 13, 2017 in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mr. Rudnik was born October 6, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Virgie Stepanic Rudnik. He was a member of the former Transfiguration Parish of Mt. Pleasant. Joe was a 1953 graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 and then transferred to the United States Air Force continuing to serve his country until 1963. Joe had been employed for many years as a Sand Blaster for Kenco Fabricating Company of Scottdale. He enjoyed fishing and repairing automobiles. Joe is survived by his loving family: his brother and sisters; Leo R. Rudnik and his wife Barbara of Scottdale, Genevieve Opalinski of Scottdale, and Virginia Sutyak of Chesterland, OH and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bernard Rudnik in 2010, his sister in law and brothers in law; Dolly Rudnik, Vince Opalinski, and Theodore Sutyak. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Joe will immediately follow at Noon in the funeral home. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
